American Health’s Growth Leads to Addition of Second Medical Director, Dr. Benita Jackson
February 2, 2012 (Worthington, OH) – American Health Holding, Inc., a multi-URAC accredited medical management service provider, today announced it has named Dr. Benita Jackson as Medical Director. Dr. Jackson joined American Health’s physician review panel in 2008 and is now the company’s second Medical Director. She joins Dr. Roland Griggs, who has been American Health’s Medical Director since 1993.
“Due to the growth of our business, we have added Dr. Jackson to our staff as a full-time Medical Director,” said Paul Lavin, President & CEO of American Health. “Dr. Jackson brings extensive experience in internal medicine, public health and preventive medicine, which will expand our already robust clinical expertise.”

Prior to joining American Health, Dr. Jackson was an Associate Medical Director for Q2Administrators in Westerville, Ohio, a subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and Palmetto GBA, where she handled third-level Medicare reconsideration. She was also a consultant for the Bureau of Disability Determination for the State of Ohio. Previously, Dr. Jackson was an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University in the School of Public Health, where she was also the Director of Residency Training Program in Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Jackson received her A.B. in Biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College and earned her Doctor of Medicine from Howard University. She also holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. Dr. Jackson is a Fellow in the American College of Preventive Medicine and is a certified Health Care Quality Manager by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP).
